This makes me so envious. At some point in the last five years, I developed an intolerance to oatmeal. So many things I used to love are now painful to eat: No-bake cookies, cheerios, oatmeal, apple crisp, oatmeal-peanut butter cookies…

A supermarket near me has oats imported from Ireland. They’re a bit spendy.
 
I haven’t tried them because, being a lazy Yank, I buy the precooked, dried, rolled “quick oats” that soften and become edible about a hundred and twenty seconds after boiling water touches them. I actually probably should try the old-fashioned ones one of these days.
