My problem with it is that it doesn’t fit well.  
They’re tossing out all these quips on top of a cute happy musical number.
 
Some of the random stuff like ‘these two were interspecies dating’  
and ‘this pony died in an accident later’ are especially jarring.  
That wouldn’t seem at least awkward or obnoxious if they did this with a g4 song?
 
If this were a low-key robot chicken edit or another good satire/spoof group I would at least understand,  
but coming from an official hasbro video, it’s awkward, cringy and a bit disappointing.
 

 
Korora’s g1 stuff
 
We have a pony editor on derpi that makes some good uploads that fit better.  
They feel more ‘chill’ and better fitting, not edgy or snarky (maybe a little).
 
Some context for the above example: Wind Whistler is the closest thing to a ‘pony spock’.  
Without context, maybe not so funny? A lot of them aren’t meant to be ‘funny’ per se, more like relaxed talk.  
But I don’t find some of this official video’s quips funny, either.

Well looks like this video didn’t go over well with the G1 fans some people in the community are accusing Hasbro of mocking G1 to score point with millennians.
