Just a little thought is it really the Sunset we know.  
As we did not encounter a second Sunset in humans, this one would not have made the opposite journey.

comme on n’a pas rencontré de deuxième Sunset chez les humains, celle ci n’aurais elle pas fait le voyage inverse.

I still get sad that the 2014 “Happy Holidays” comic was about bullying… at CHS… towards Sunset Shimmer…. in a post-Rainbow Rocks setting.  
I’m guessing the creators were as interested in creating EqG comics as much as the audience was in reading them.

They did have EQG comics, they ranged from forgettable to so poorly received there’s a reason they haven’t made any since 2014.
 
That said, I’d be interested in new comic to see what they do about this.

Ponyville is having a celebration honoring Mayor Mare. Sunset apparently caught wind of it (lets assume through the book) and decided she wanted to be part of it took, upset she wasn’t invited.

It says a lot about the comic that the only thing people are talking about is a single character who shows up for three pages. The entire issue is entirely forgettable and by-the-numbers until this happened.
