I couldn’t agree more. I’m in my mid-30s, and I learned a lot from this show. I’m far from perfect, but I really do strive to live by the virtues and lessons this show taught us, especially what the Elements represented.

I’d like to say that you are never too old to learn something new, never too old to lose sight of what’s important in life, and never too old to find your way again. True friends are the greatest resource you can have, friends that will help you stay on track in life, help you find your way again, and you will be this greatest resource to them.
 
I found this show in 2013 during a time when I was headed towards a dark place, knew some people who recommended the show and I checked it out because I wanted something to brighten my mood, I ended up watching those three seasons in two days, and rewatched them over the next month after that, and it wasn’t until I rewatched the Smile Song number that I came to accept that, as a young adult in college, this show for meant for a much younger audience could absolutely still be able to teach me life lessons, remind me of the creed I want to live by, and the way I want to carry myself in life. The virtues that make up the elements of harmony are just that; virtues, virtues that you and I and everyone can practice here in the real world, those virtues are what I strive to make the bedrock of who I am as a person, it’s ok not to be perfect in practice so long as you can find your way back to who you strive to be.
 
I owe a great deal to this show and the people who had it in their hearts to not just make this show, but to make it special for all these years, everyone who stuck around the whole run, everyone who came later and saw it to the end, and everyone who came before and passed the baton on to others. An earnest thank you to those people, from me. Myself and many others are terribly lucky to have had you touch our lives.  
And so now, no matter where things go from here, it’s up to us to continue and hold as champions the virtues that the show championed. Never forget these characters and what they stood for, for as long as you live, my friends.

I did end up watching the finale, and boy was it bittersweet. I’m so happy that our little ponies got the happy ending they deserve, and just like they said in the show, they will always be there when we need them.
 
I’m still heartbroken of course, and have been experiencing symptoms of - but won’t actually get - a heart attack, my feelings are so strong. Not to mention that since we saw the Students as adults, that possibly lowers the chances of them being the G5 cast, but I can always hope.
 
Despite what people tell me about this not being the end - which it kind of isn’t - it really feels final. Hopefully it does lead to an even more awesome era, like Dash said. And just because things are changing doesn’t mean we stop loving the past, and can visit them whenever we like, just like the mane cast said. Yes, this is difficult. Yes, this is so scary. But the ponies believed we could handle it, and I have to believe that too.
 
I’m so happy the characters are going on to live their lives, and I’m so happy I got to be a part of them. And while the stories of G4 aren’t quite over - they might never truly be, there’s a lot of time for minds to change, and change happens often - I’m glad that our friends finally get their happy ending. They deserve it.
 
So yes, I’m heartbroken. But I’ve also found a closure from the finale that I didn’t know was possible. Given time, I think we’ll all be able to heal. And you know what? Those beautiful ponies will be with us every step of the way. We’ll keep them with us, in all that we do, every day. That way the characters never fade away, never die.
 
MLPFiM isn’t dead, and never will be. It’s still got a lot of life left in it, a lot of stories to tell. I plan on being there every step of the way.
 
And we never know what the future may hold. There may be even more to G4 than any of us know!
 
If anyone else feels as sad as I feel about the show ending, I want you to know you’re not alone. It’ll take time, but we can get through this together.
 
So hold your head high! Keep singing their songs, and keep their spirit in your heart. This is our show. And it’ll never truly end with us around.

Even though the show has ended, the community will live on. Just like how the GF community is still going strong after over 3 years.

Here’s to a wonderfully awesome show that brought a lot of heartfelt moments to all of us. Despite the differences we had with some episodes, the show will be missed. I’ll always remember how it helped me through some difficult times, the show serving as a way to unwind and digest what happened to me the previous week. It made that knot in my stomach relax. Now, I’m not sure what I’ll do. In the end, I’ll always look back on the memories.
