A sad prequel to Alice The Techpriest Deer.
Alice was a curious creature: while her duty was to maintain order in the flow of time, she sometimes loves to mess around with historical events. At some unspecified point of the timeline (the far future?), she managed to create a toaster by her own magic, and she was impressed when two slices of bread popped out of nowhere.
This attracted the iresome attention of a fanatic, whose body has been horrifically replaced with cybernetics. The rest is “history”.
