We just became best friends.
I would love it if the the finale had a conflict similar to Glitchtale where the main cast had a major disagreement about the means to defeat Grogar. It would be a dilemma so heart-wrenching it would jeopardize their friendship, and it would probably end with a sacrifice of some kind, but again, I don’t have my hopes up for that level of writing this season.

When you put those two together…

That would be a really nice callback to all the previous episodes where friends were helped. Though personally, I always preferred the episodes where the Mane Six go through some sort of friendship problem and work through it themselves.
Edited because: hit send too early
There’s probably gonna be another ass pull. Some magical artifact or secret that was hinted at. But if anything, I predict that the episode will go down like the ending of Okami or Paper Mario: The thousand Year Door. Where all the characters the Mane 6 and secondaries befriended “pray” for their victory over Grogar in the final battle, giving them the power to triumph.
Yeah. 69, 420, that 6-digit anime meme, 13, and 50.
Can you tell me the lottery numbers?
Yeah.
Plus, after Sombra’s defeat, Grogar made an example out of it if Chrysalis, Tirek, or Cozy Glow were to cross him.
Because the characters from the movie are a movie exclusive characters. Their VAs was only paid to voice act in the movie and not in the show. Hasbro has no intention making the characters from the movie show up in FiM.
Yeah, that also could be a reason why.
@LaszlVFX
Specifically, Grogar probably waited until now because he had a few villains at their absolute lowest points, one of them dead (though Sombra ended up pissing him off with his attitude, so I wouldn’t be surprised if that was also a factor for leaving him dead, other than Sombra not listening to him, by not stopping after his Crystal Empire invasion failed), two of them in Tartarus, and one in exile and gradually losing sanity.
He is, to put it bluntly, an opportunistic bully (which is also why he favors ruling with fear), and I’m guessing the “betray Grogar” plan is something that won’t end up taking him down, regardless of whether he’s fully aware of it happening now or not.

There are multiple ways to gain respect, fear is but one of them. The problem arises, however, if someone ever decides they hate you more than they fear you. If that happens, then you have a potential problem.

Someone hated Grogar even in G1…
He didn’t revive him since Sombra proved himself to be unworthy for Grogar’s plans since his plans include a lot of team-working. He was way to stubborn and egotistical to even realize what Grogar was saying. A villain like him would be a back-draw and a liability in his team.
“Spends more time that actually doing something”
Yes, because he’s a cautious villain. He wants to make sure about everything before attempting anything. Meaning that he wants to prepare for any surprises from the heroes’s part.
“What took him so long?”
He was too weak to do anything. He just now regained enough power to start his plans. He wouldn’t just get into a battle without his power not being restored enough.
“He didn’t watch Tirek, Cozy Glow and Chrysalis through his crystal ball?”
Yes he did, but he’s just playing along with them so he can make them feel unsuspicious. He obviously waiting them to start executing their plan and when the time gets right, he’ll unexpectedly strike on them. He’s actually way smarter than we think.
“Uses fear to boss them around”
Yes, since he wants to intimidate them so they’ll get a better motive to start working together. If he would just take it easy, they wouldn’t star working together willingly.
Is it not the fandom way to overanalyse things?
It’s only one of the ways.
Apparantly.
