I don’t know if the whole dropping the soap/prison rape thing makes more or less sense in the context of ponies. Since they have four ‘hands’ and are already lower to the ground than a human it would be far easier to pick it back up without moving their body at all, especially as several episodes have shown ponies are fine on 3 legs.
 
On the other hand, given how most mammals have sex, even without the need to bend down they’re basically always in prime raping position when standing. But then why wait for a soap dropping at all? I guess once their hoof moves to pick it up they’re slightly more vulnerable to being off-balance.

Well, my reasoning behind it was that he uttered the name Delta Vee because Apogee’s (Estrus) smell triggered a memory about Delta Vee, making him say Delta’s name, o well. :D

Funny you should mention that. I always did like the idea that part of the reason her dad got so into it was because she was so much like her mother in certain areas.
 
As for my thoughts here… I think the concept was mostly the result of “another picture”:derpibooru.org/2059498 that suggested Delta had been in prison a few times herself (at least often enough for the guards to know her), and some resulting ideas on what happened to her there.
 
Plus I think there’s some humor in the idea of Delta Vee being really well known among the prison population.

Well, theoretically it could be possible, according to a certain clopfic on FimFiction Apogee and Delta Vee have an almost simulair Estrus smell.
