So there’s both some pros and cons to the big change? I’m not too surprised to hear that. I’m glad that they won’t be doing that much cuts to the episodes anymore.

Yeah, I’m guessing that the original voice actors had a large price tag associated with them (considering they’re all fairly well known, as far as I can tell, for other major roles they’ve played in anime), and Disney Channel Japan wanted to keep costs down on a now older property that never really found a wider audience over there.
 
What makes me suspect this even more is that apparently there are no Japanese credits appended to the program even - just the original credits, left in English.
 
Oh well, while I might kinda miss the longer opening and ending credit sequences, I don’t really miss that silly “Little Pony TV” ending segment. Also, matching the formatting of the English original means that, thankfully, the worst practice of the original seasons 1 & 2 dub was not repeated - that being the numerous time cuts to the episodes.

And then season 3 came along and they ruined everything recast every character who had appeared in the first two seasons.

This makes me wanna go pick up where I left off on One Piece episode 630 something on Jap Sub from years ago now.

It’s the same Japanese VAs since the start: all of the mane 6 plus Spike!  
Still Miyuki Sawashiro as Twilight from s1 e1.
 
I’m not 100% sure if that’s true for the three elder princesses though.

I’m curious now. Are the voice actors for the older characters the same for the Japanese dub of the TV series? Or were they completely recast?
