Yeah, on this site we respect the original artist’s rights, so they retain their copyright to any derivative works, such as this edit. In this case, the original artist has not asked us to delete the image, but not all artists are so patient or forgiving. Especially when their art is used in a “mouthpiece” image macro such as this. It doesn’t always happen, but the original artist can get associated with the mouthpiece image, and sometimes people go after the artist instead of the editor if they don’t like the statement on the image.
Yeah, speaking as a christian brony, this is totally out of context.
You’re not “evil” if you like “Nightmare Before Christmas,” or shop at “Hot Topic.”
By “darkness,” & “light” it’s discussing “good VS evil,” not whether you like so-called things considered “dark/edgy” by the media, or fashion.

Edited
When done without the artist’s consent, it basically is. Especially, when they don’t even credit the artist.
@Dirty Bit
Posting edits is considered stealing on derpibooru?
I tend to not really care about things like that. :v
At least you took it in stride. Can’t believe OP stole your image for this.

I used to be Christian and you speak the truth.
@Beau Skunky
Both of your comments make me happy.
