ahhh, that makes a bit more sense now, hahaha. usually when i look at memes, i take them for granted most of the time. but it’s like you pointed out, memes (especially boi) are kind of versatile like that  
funny about that though, i am not a big fan of that sort of meme. mostly because ironic humor isn’t my cup of tea, lol. i love wholesome memes though, they make me smile like an idiot

since everyone thinks the series is ending, this meme would work the other way around too.

But literally only one of them is a cute boi and he’s partially off screen…

In all seriousness, like all memes, “boi” is flexible and situational. It’s usually meant to antagonize or belittle, but many people including myself use it neutrally. I personally see it used more often to demean like “oh look a bunch of fucc bois” but it’s also used sometimes to portray a kind of blissful, ignorant innocence.
 
This meme template though, the “who would win, [BLANK] vs [blank] BOIS” is usually using the “boi” part in a demeaning way for irony. The most delicious examples of this meme though are ones that put a really cool or serious thing in the first blank but imply that it loses to the “boi” part because lols.
