He can certainly out-fly his cousin. Especially when she won’t grow into her wings for many years.

Actually no. That would have been a nice follow up image. While he outclasses them in agility, turning radius and acceleration they outclass him in carry capacity, endurance, altitude and top speed. In a race and especially one where they are carrying weights they would kick his flank easily.

Well I said it because bat wings grant more agility than the bird wings that normal pegasi have. Those wings are made of the arm with the fingers fused together. That means it only has 3 joins; the shoulder, the elbow and the wrist. Bat wings are massively enlarged hands so they have the same joints birds do and in addition they have all their fingers as well. So they can curve their wings and make much tighter turns.
Their deep wings also grants more lift at awkward angles.

Though that comes at the cost of power since fingers are fragile. They also don’t have as much wingspan so their total amount of lift is lower which reduces their carry capacity as well as their maximum altitude. Simply put; thestrals are more agile and can take off easier but pegasi can fly faster, higher and can carry bigger loads.

@Meanlucario
I feel the people you’re complaining about are the ones not doing the actual incest shipping.

Also oddly enough, the people who do complain about that ship seem to fail to realize that the show never confirmed them being related and even if it did, the Apple and Pie families are only related by one marriage. They’re not biologically related to each other.

Fluffy Space Bat
@Night–Mist
He’s doing nothing wrong, here. At worst he’s being boisterous about his flying ability, something Rainbow Dash does as well, regularly, as an adult. If Flurry can’t handle him being boisterous then she’s the one who needs a bit more talking to.

If Pterus is too fast for her during those games of tag, as the posts suggest, then Flurry’s better off not participating until she’s more able.

That aside, I can’t help but feel sorry for Pterus, with many commenters suggesting he get in trouble for assorted minor things. Most of which are just aspects of his nature. Especially when I consider that he was orphaned And realest talk, I don’t believe it was right for Twilight to impulsively adopt him, there are likely many couples and individuals better prepared to raise a bat pony colt.

But that’s just me, and thankfully Pterus seems to be developing normally, thanks in part, at least, to not being punished harshly for minor things.

I mean, if it’s a first time offense, he’ll get away with a request to stop annoying his cousin, but if he’s a repeat offender, they can’t go easy on him, cause at that point, he’s doing it to show he’s tempting fate of getting in trouble.
