But seriously, it shouldn’t be that surprising. If you recall the episode “A Friend in Deed”, Pinkie acquires a new wig for Cranky from Rarity’s shop, and given the apparent popularity of Twilight in Ponyville (and elsewhere), I could understand Rarity keeping some copies on hand for the occasional tourist or superfan.
 
Alternatively, perhaps after the events of “It Isn’t the Mane Thing About You”, Rarity decided to stock up on wigs that match the mane styles of herself and her friends, rather than take a chance on any other bad mane day emergency.
