Well he has become the red shirt in recent years but really it’s easier/cheaper to get a different character a “new” toy by doing an a straight redeco such as for years all they had to do is paint an Optimus Prime white and blue to make an Ultra Magnus.
 
What’s funny though is the first time they gave Cliffjumper his on head was for the War For Cybertron mold.
 

 
But Hasbro declared WFC to be part of Prime so when the sequel game Fall Of Cybertron came out he had a completely different head based on the Prime version of Cliffjumper.
