you do you, but this isn’t “destiny”. spike never thought about that stuff in the show, this plush tag description is only hastily thought out. he was just chosen by twilight as ambassador, because he was the right guy for it. that’s simple, really.

teasing the characters is not the same as a confirmation. Fluttercord never is romance, is just friendship that’s that they do. The writters support the frirndship on them.
Yeah, sure the writers like to ship tease the characters (Sparity and Fluttercord for example) every now and then but that’s all they do.
about flash with her does not count anymore. This is about friendship and that’s why the romance only focus on other characters not with the main.
Just for Sidekicks and Slice of Life confirmed Spike as a complete side character, thus immune to the “main characters can’t have relationships”.
You know, ignoring the whole “twilight was hot for flash”.
I really doubt Spike would be with Rarity or anybody else at the end of the show. The show is called friendship is magic not romance is magic, there is some romance in the show but the romance only focus on the side characters.
That’s why I was going to edit MLP wiki (I don’t trust that site) about something that is not, that is not even confirmed or does not give us a logic. That is not the same as disney wiki with disney princesses but these users from that site prevent me only that they are considering something as information that does not even have a logic, especially the images that put the galleries each character. it’s true they are putting something that is not, the admins from this site are just fans, should be ashamed of what they are putting and leave us edit. That’s why I don’t trust that wiki and I always trust the Disney Wiki.
Yeah. nixing sparity would be a generally frowned upon move as a whole and pulling a mordecai would promptly make the fans froth with rage, not just for lack of sparity, but lack of him being with ANY of the NUMEROUS ladies he’s regularly interacted with.
Only one of these comes from the wiki, and it’s pretty strict over there in terms of proof. It’s a well-organized place. The bottom one is from Wikipedia itself (which can also be edited by random people), and the first one is from a tag from a plushy! Not a fanmade plushy either!
If they actually pull a Mordecai on Spike in the last ep, that’ll actually make me kinda sad. If they do decide to nix Sparity, at least give it a proper sendoff and let us see Spike grow as a character from the experience.
I normally don’t talk to background ponies, but you’re correct. Any “development” he’s had after season 6 has been largely ignored in any episode where he’s the primary focus with the writer in charge focusing on superficial things (wings), or making him stupid in tasks he does all the time (cooking, cleaning, official legal paperwork), or worse yet, making him completely forget his actual development moments (“I’m a dragon, but dragons are manipulative and mean and I’m not like that, so I feel no shame in living with ponies. I’ll just forget that and take a fat dragon who has a bad attitude at face value. I mean, it’s not like dragons are manipulative and mean, right?”)

If I remember the “word of Faust” correctly; Celestia had suspicions that Twilight had GREAT magical power that was just not tapped yet. Dragon eggs couldn’t be hatched by ponies and would require incredible magic to hatch, and the one who’d eventually replace Celestia needed to have that sort of natural innate power, thus the dragon egg was the test for Twilight specifically.
As for the origin of the egg, it was never stated, though some speculate that Scorpan gave it to the royal sisters as a gift after they imprisoned Tirek.

Considering how (excuse my french) completely and totally half assed and uncaring the writers are when it comes to focusing on Spike, I fully expect that, IF they do a wrapup on that topic, it’ll SUDDENLY be that he’ll go “oh even though Rarity is the only CREATURE ON THIS PLANET I’VE EVER LOVED THIS WAY, for no reason whatsoever I’ll revoke that and fall in love with someone else, likely an OC who wasn’t introduced until this episode and since I have an actual crush on them instead of a 9 season long love and respect for the person beyond the skin deep beauty, I’m going to marry them and have 30 kids.”

Yeah, I’m just disappointed that Spike wasn’t as consistent and focused with single story arc as Discord was with Fluttershy and Twilight or Starlight with Trixie and Sunburst or Pinkie with Maud and Yaks. Spike was all over places not knowing whether to focus on Rarity, Twilight, Ember, Thorax, Big Mac, Discord or recently even Smolder.

There are a ton of characters now, with the Student Six in the mix, so it wouldn’t be surprising for Spike to just stay where he is. The show is pulled in a lot of directions already.
Yeah Spike is a terrible case of writers not knowing what to do with him. Bond him with CMC? Nope, he dance with SweetieBelle once and that’s it. Bond with Mane6? Nope only Rarity is his one sided crush who uses him and Twilight his pseudo mother who also sometimes treat him like a pet. Bond with Student6? Nope, he is apparently too old to become a student with them. Bond with Thorax or Ember? Nope, they both had episodes focused on befriending Spike and then they undermined it later. His only real friendship in 9 season is between him, Big Mac and Discord. Something that was only focused in 2 episodes and only by a single writer - Nick Confalone.

Yeah what’s wrong with the Thorax friendship is that, yeah, Spike helped Thorax be accepted, but then Spike would have to be with Starlight in To Where and Back Again to help out with the changeling threat instead of being captured - so Starlight pretty much stole his story arc!
Dragons, it’s alright… he started a friendship, yeah, but what more to it is there? You’d think Spike helping Ember become Dragon Lord would lead to Spike getting answers about his past, as reward! There’s one episode coming up that COULD do that still - it ain’t too late!
Crystal Empire? It’s an ongoing arc, and yet Spike’s heroic roles weren’t even mentioned in the season 9 premiere! Why didn’t Sombra want revenge on Spike? Same with Chrysalis not wanting revenge on Starlight anymore, or Cozy with the Student 6!
Wings? Yeah, that’s physical development, yeah, you’d think that be a sign of Spike growing up and therefore have a bit of mental changes too - like wanting to do more for himself instead of standing in Twilight’s shadow all the time, or quitting his crush on Rarity. Maybe even having a new character that puts thoughts in his mind - like Grogar charming him into joining him, or whoever found Spike’s eggs being more of a father-figure and putting thoughts into Spike’s mind. Hell, Spike BARELY had any conflict with his friends, just accepts things willy-nilly!
If he really accepts Twilight and his family - why isn’t he bonding with Twilight’s family since they’re his family too? I’m not even sure if Twilight deserves to be Spike’s closest family after what she did to him in BGE - using him as bait against a giant monster without even apologizing for it!
There is SO MUCH missing to his arc! He has potential for ALOT of stuff! ALOT! And yet his role gets wasted on being a comedic sidekick and just being Twilight’s voice of reason - something Applejack could easily do or Starlight, and don’t get me started on that stupid Rarity crush that overstayed its welcome! Every time Spike gets something, it either gets taken away or another character takes it from him! The wings is really all he’s got that cannot be taken away! It sickens me and ruins my self-esteem cause I really relate to Spike!
However, the devs could be tricking us still - misleading us. It could be a clever ruse! I ain’t giving up yet! They still have 23 more episodes and a special (or more) to fix this!
His friendships with Thorax and Ember are what I meant by “underdeveloped.” I don’t really feel like there’s anything there for those friendships beyond “Spike did something for them earlier.” It doesn’t help the only episode really featuring those friendships spent the whole time undermining them.
