I thought the Season 8 Finale could have been a great chance for the Cutie Mark Crusaders to shine. But no, they got stuck in a broom closet. Oh well, at least we can still dream of what could have been. Imagine, if you will, a sort of magical-girl type showdown between the CMC and Cozy Glow. Like a shonen style finale climax. Or Powerpuff Girls if you will. Maybe we’ll get something more akin to that in Season 9, who knows.

How it should have ended is that the CMC burst out of the closet, go into the catacombs and pull the artifacts from the magic vortex causing the magic draining process to fail. Then all the magic returns in Equestria and Starlight and the young six are free.

I am 100% with you. And even if it was the Student Six who had to get the victory in the end, they could have had the CMC at least be there and do something, anything.

After how far they’ve come and how long their journey’s been, after being the most significant characters other than the Mane Six since Season 1, the CMC deserve a chance to be the big heroes for once.
