Yeah, people assume you’re biased, simply because they are.
 
I remember back in my Sanik fanbase daze, I got accused of hating Princess Sally, and got called an “Amy-loving moron,” just because I wasn’t upset that Sally got turned into a robot in the comics, (and I had faith she would be turned back to normal) and I never mentioned Amy, and ironically I’ve made/faved more Sally pics on my DA page, then Amy ones.

I remember seeing someone claim that flutterMac was pretty much canon by that point and I simply responded with a no GIF and then I had a reply telling me to shut my mouth and that the ship was more canon than cheerimac my memories bit rusty what happened I did afterwards but I think I said something like that doesn’t make flutterMac canon and then he said that flutterMac had tons of stuff to back it up but not cheerimac had only one.  
the funny thing is I never mentioned cheerimac

Yeah, though, oddly a ’shipper can be an anti-shipper, as well, if a ’ship they dislike contradicts one they prefer.  
Like that FlutterMac fan-brat I mentioned whom wants Cheerilee dead, and such.

Yeah, any slight hint of romance, (even trolling the CMC, or Cheerilee watching Big Mac in concert) and fans go nuts.  
I take heat just for saying I don’t think “Fluttercord” is canon, as people oddly see that as an insult, or blasphemous like, “I h8 Fluttercord/nobody shuld ship it!” but that’s not what I’m saying. Just because something isn’t canon, doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy it. Also, just because you see debatably teases for a ‘ship, or characters interacting doesn’t make them canonly a romantic couple.
 
I don’t mind people enjoying fan-‘ships, but being delusional, or enforsive about it, (like that girl who wanted Cheerilee to die, or those people who prefer alternative partners for characters, or attacking anyone who doesn’t agree something is canon) is a bit much.

Actually I do remember some people claiming that the episode did canonize it.I remember at one point when I was trying to contradict the people claiming that sugarMac was going to end up like the other I said that the episode actually ended was them hooking up and someone told me that’s Cheerilee and big Mac also hooked up. I guess they didn’t pick up that they were just trolling the CMC

Oh, yeah. I remember when “Hearts & Hooves” first aired, (leaked actually) FlutterMac fans went nuts.  
I remember some teen girl on DA was so angry fearing her FlutterMac ‘shipping was being sunk, that she started drawing tons of Cheerilee torture/kill pics, and such.  
I think she was kinda creepy.
 
That said, ironically they had no reason to freak out, as it didn’t canonize CheeriMac. By the time “SugarMac” was made canon, I think all those crazy kids left the fandom.

I was never too into ‘shipping honestly.  
I kinda liked CheeriMac, but honestly it didn’t kill me when Big Mac got a different canon girlfriend.

Some get mad if you say those aren’t “official pairings” either.
 
LyraBon kinda has some possible teases, but overall, it’s treated rather ambiguous, so fans can portray them as such, or as platonic “just friends,” if they wish. (As some fans prefer platonic friendships.)  
Overall, anytime two characters interact, (or even don’t in the case of Octavia & DJ) alot of fans tend to jump the gun that it’s ‘shippy.
 
I like Fluttershy & Discord as good friends, but I can’t seem to imagine them being an item, because frankly, Discord’s basically a thousands-year-old, immortal deity-like being, and isn’t even a similar species, or anything.

People can get quite desperate for the ships to be canon. I remember when the articles about scootaloo’s aunts being the show’s first gay couple and people kept talking about lyrabon and rarijack

I hate to sound like a ‘shipper-pooper, but I’m pretty sure they’re “just friends.” I don’t quite understand why so many fans insist that “FlutterCord” is canon. Fan-’shipping is fine, and all, nothing against that, but some act like any interaction between these two is some huge “romantic” moment.
 
In fact, show developer/creator Lauren Faust was against giving the Mane 6 boyfriends, ^{(or girlfriends)} and it seems the current staff have been honoring that.

HNNGGGHH i wish the special was focusing on these two instead literal who ponies. Imagine a scenario where Discord with Fluttershy get a double date with Pinkie and Cheese Sandwich with all hijinks and drama. This is an image we will never experience.

This bit just made my heart go HNNNG!

He kinda already did in “Discordant Harmony,” I felt that was the closest thing to a Discord episode, as it seemed more about him then Fluttershy.

I thought that too. Since they destroyed the Elemnts of Hamrony, I was sure they will also want to “remove” Discord for this whole season and maybe ressurect him in the finale, which would suck since he should get his own slice of life episode.

Had me fooled too. Didn’t help this was the last season, so possibly offing a very powerful “guest star” character, is actually something other shows do.

This moment was honestly kinda adorable!
 
(On the other hand, Discord was a pretty good actor in this scene, even he had me fooled. Classic Dissy. XD)
