I wonder how exactly one would pay a dragon. I don’t think they’ve ever been shown to have a currency of their own.

Well, I suppose that food(gems) would probably be accepted. I do not know how important gems are as a food/treat to the mlp dragons, but given that they don’t spoil or tarnish and that a dragon is unlikely not to want more of anything, gems seem like a good barter piece.
