I promised a certain frog that my next deviation would be related to Zesty Gourmand and I intended to keep that promise. So here we go!
 
 
This pink miserable abomination is Dovely Pinup.  
He’s the birth son of famed fashion designer Hoity Toity, and was the result of a one-night stand.  
Hoity had been married to Zesty Gourmand [more on her later] and while she ended up with full custody of her adopted son, this infidelity ended their bitter and loveless marriage.  
Nevertheless, Dovely has this strange way of winning ponies over with his cutesy sassy demeanor.  
Here are the stories of his moms.
 
Red  
Both his name and nature are fairly unassuming. He was a trans stallion from Ponyville who spent a great deal of his living life in Canterlot and Vanhoover. He was an artist who became quite popular only a few years before his death.  
His relationship with Hoity Toity was a one night fling that resulted in a Hearts and Hooves day foal. Upon learning the stallion responsible was married, he tried to approach him discreetly to tell him the news. However, he ended meeting with Zesty first, and her piercing questions and observation forced him to crack.  
In the end, Hoity Toity did sign Dovely’s birth certificate but told Red to scram.  
Dove lived with Red for two years until tragedy struck. After being caught in a freak storm, Red sadly passed leaving Dovely alone. He was raised by his maternal grandma for a short while but even she abandoned him on Hoity’s doorstep after traumatizing and abusing the poor thing. However, while the home still stood, Hoity was no longer on the lease. It now belonged to a remarried Zesty Gourmand and her wife Photo Finish.
 
Zesty Gourmand  
Raised in the Shetlish Ilses, Zesty Gourmand didn’t at first stand out. Shetlish ponies tend to be a mix of earth, unicorn, and pegasi with Donkeys as well as Mules. Geographically, you can find a lot of Mules on the Shetlish Isles.  
Back home she was raised in a hotel and became quick friends with the chef. She had an amazing taste palate and could tell you the exact ingredients in a dish after only sample a small portion. This morphed over time to also aid her in tasting what was wrong in a dish and how to fix it.  
She moved to Equestria in her late teens and worked in various kitchens before stepping away from cooking and instead of writing articles on restaurants she liked.  
Her marriage to Hoity Toity was misguided. She had liked the stallion in the beginning but she hadn’t yet realized that she was in fact gay. The two would have made better friends.  
After the divorce, she remarried a mare who regularly took photos of the restaurants and food she spoke of in her blogs. That mare was Photo Finish and they ended up raising three beautiful kids together.
 
Her relationship with her adopted son Dovely is very strong.  
Dove was shy but picky when she first took him in. This resonated with her, and as a way of gaining his trust, she began cooking with him and showing him each ingredient that went into a dish. He soon trusted her judgment and took a fancying to her style of cuisine.
 
She loves that stupid whiny pink whelk even if she pretends to be indifferent.

Photo Finish
 
Lastly, is Photo Finish born Wunderschöne Augen, meaning Beautiful Eyes in Zweisprache.  
Born in Zweibrükstaat, her family moved to Equestria not long after Photo’s 7th birthday. While Zesty was born with a heightened gustatory sense, Photo’s just got an eye for finding beauty in everything. People back home used to say it was because of her different coloured eyes. They thought that she saw the world in two different ways.  
Photo had some trouble adjusting to Equestrian life. She was bullied for her eyes and non-Equestrian name. She ended up taking on a new name, but she still goes by Wunderschöne Augen or just Augen with family.  
Her persistence un the field of photography paid off and the teasing was replaced with praise as she grew older. She took on odd jobs at first and still does to this day. This love of helping out the less fortunate helped her connect with a younger Zesty Gourmand. The two were great friends for decades but they did eventually marry.
 
Photo was part of the reason why Zesty decided to adopt Dovely.  
While things had cooled down with Hoity Toity, Photo knew him well through work and knew he had no time to raise a little boy.  
For her part, Photo has always been affectionate with Dovely. He really loves her and is known to cuddle with her a lot. Even as a young stallion, he still regularly has cute little movie nights with Photo, Zesty, and his brother and sister.
