Being a princess was her job, so “retire” isn’t really incorrect.
She probably is. I mean, a few dolks tried to pin it on Sombra giving Twilight another nightmare, but with how much content is in the trailers without the princesses, I think it’s true. Definitely wondering about why they leave, and hardly help with sombra.
Kids won’t know what that word means.
Also, double-gotcha, she really is retiring.
It threw me off too. “Retire” isn’t the word I’d use when stepping down from a position of power like in Celestia’s case. She could’ve easily said what she said here “stepping down from the throne”…I don’t think it’s the real Celestia and Luna…
…Of course, this is sadder in hindsight, considering her and Luna are considering retirement (Seriously, they don’t call it abdicating?)
