In some Fimfictions she’s been called “Bright Eyes” and I like that name very much, but I call her most of the time in her original name Derpy Hooves.

She’s been Derpy Hooves ever since /co/ noticed her appearance in the very first episode. The name has stuck from there, whovians have nothing to do with it.

Because the full name is Derpy Hooves, haha geddit, so all the obsessive whovians that refuse to die out to this day latched on to it because it justifies using her in… whatever it is they’re doing. It would likely have been phased out by now if not for the hordes of whovians, many of whom for some reason are still around.

Derpy was the name Rainbow Dash called her in show originally, and the credits list her as Muffins. I’m saying Muffins is the proper name and Derpy Hooves is a nickname. If Bon Bon can have multiple names, so can this cute mailmare with a heart of gold and flawed eyesight.

Ditzy is the only name that doesn’t sound absolutely awful. Derpy honestly has to go. It’s [current year], for fuck’s sake, and that name was old when it was conceived. And beyond that, even with the utterly illogical and confusing way pony names even work, how would a name such as Derpy even be given to a pony. Like which of her parents would have had the bright idea and why. It manages to stretch even pony name standards, and there practically aren’t any
