tbh feb 15th needs to be made into a holiday for the single people just make a “matchmakers day” where friends get together to get the single friends a date and single people get acknowledged more and helped out

I didn’t say that it does all the time. I’m just saying it’s generally a good step. And single or not, it’s generally a good idea to improve yourself.
 
And everything I brought up were merely suggestions. You don’t have to follow them all or spend a cent. There are still ways to relax and enjoy the day that doesn’t require you spending money: you could listen to music you like, you could draw, you could go out for a walk, you could talk to people here online. You could even do what Sonork did and draw something for yourself.

You’re not the only one who suffers from being lonely. I’m in the same shitty situation and it makes me feel so bad and miserable that I’d cut off my right arm (I’m right handed) for a woman’s love. In the saddest lonely moments I ever had, I even wished I could trade my two brothers for a lovely wife.
 
But now, what do I do when valentine’s day is coming? I make a drawing where my ponysona (a pony who is supposed to be me) has a romantic date with a lovely mare. I did that once, in 2017, and that made me feel a little better. I’m doing it again this year. It’s better than nothing I guess.

actually self love doesnt always come before love for/from others… sometimes the love of someone else is the catalyst for someone loving themselves… also how in gods name can one enjoy being single if companionship is literally the thing they desire more than anything? the lack of which is what drove them into depression in the first place also my broke ass cant afford chocolate… or anything… tbh I dont see an end anywhere in sight, I dont see any light at the end of the tunnel and if I do it’s most likely a train

People can still celebrate the holiday with family or friends. I’m single and that’s usually what I do. Platonic love is still a thing after all.
 
And even if you’re you’re by yourself, there’s nothing that should stop you from enjoying being single or enjoying the day by yourself. I’m being serious. Treat yourself. Buy yourself something nice like chocolate. I usually like buying a small box for myself every Valentines Day despite not dating anyone. Having love and respect for yourself is one good step towards doing the same for another person (including a significant other).

The funny thing is being bisexual makes me less picky but i cant seem to have it in me to ask out a mare OR a cute stallion… Perhaps i would do well with blind dating… Just have some friends set me up with someone at a location… And as for a prosperous future that would still be unfulfilling without somepony to share that with… In fact the lack of a mare or stallion to share my life with is what frightens me the most because i am so scared shitless of dying a single virgin that getting a significant other is my top priority that drives my goals of getting a job and learning how to do useful life stuff

Don’t dwell too much about it man, it’s tough being solo (and I would bet most Broneis know that all too well) but eventually you will reach a point in life where you’ll fetch yourself a nice mare.
 
Not everypony get to date in their youth but luck for us man time is on your side, just keep on trooping to a prosper future and a marefriend will be but consequence.

just spreading awareness of the pain that cursed day brings… plus one of the other reasons I hate it is because I just want to look at good artwork WITHOUT having constant reminders of being single because of that holiday INFECTING everything seriously I cant even look at art on this site anymore without “happy valentines day” art shoving it’s “you are supposed to have a date today!” bullshit at me I CAN’T EVEN ENJOY MY FAVORITE SITE ANYMORE BECAUSE OF VALENTINES DAY! If I cant get a date to save my life then how am I supposed to enjoy a supposedly “happy” holiday ABOUT getting a date?
