Or people want to think that she is black and they want it to be a commonly accepted interpretation of the design, when in reality it’s just a heavy tan.  
You know, I have nothing against the idea of black Dash, or black anyone really. Canonically they all are pastel multicolored people, so any interpretation regarding their race is just an interpretation (including carcasian). Anyone can make a black interpretation of any character and that’s okay in my opinion. I never understood all those wars around it. But this just doesn’t look black to me, it looks like a heavy tan. And that’s it. I’m not arguing against black, I’m arguing for tan.  
Sure, after looking at some more ganguros, she doesn’t have much in common other them the heavy tan, and I’m not sure why Background Pony #0733 brought up ryukyuan people, they aren’t that much darker in skin tone, so it’s true that the arguments that were made were poor (because we’re idiots, at least I am). But can I just say “I think it’s just a heavy tan” without trying to make an argument for it and be done with it?

It reminds me a lot of Sonic humanized, especially the ears and hair that way, don’t like me…

ganguro style’s been out of fashion since the turn of the century, plus rainbow’s style has nothing in common with it but skin color. it honestly just feels like people are grasping at straws to explain how she can have dark skin but still be white which is pretty yikes, fam

Nothing. It’s just that she probably isn’t, since the design is made by a japanese company and Japan: 1 - doesn’t care about racial diversity, 2 - has a style where japanese girls are getting super tanned. So that’s probably what they’re going for here.

I guess it’s possible. The skin tone in this image kind of reminds me of Ed from Cowboy Bebop.

Before anyone thinks she is black she isn’t she is a Ryukyuan person  
or just think of her as a Caucasian with a natural dark tan since people  
like this do exist despite the contrary belief that people think there  
their is no such thing as white people with a dark tan.
