After reading the comic some more it seems that way.

I think it’s a setup for a legit plot point. it’s supposed to raise eyebrows, intentionally. just my guess…

Hate? It’s just legit criticism. It’s an awkward, oddly specific monologue. That raises some eyebrows in my opinion.

Given that this guy is a blaintant self insert it’s hard to tell if his monologue is a setup for a legit plot point or an author tract.

yeah, it’s not like there’s anything illegitimate in paying your workers in trainbux™. they’re just as good as bits, because you can redeem them at the company store! of course considering the store’s prices, you may need to take out a temporary loan in trainbux™ but you can always repay it when the company stops setting the store’s prices just a teeny bit more than the salaries they pay. so shop at the company store, and sleep in the employee bedcar, and you don’t even need to worry about how you’re not allowed to leave company property while you’re still paying back your trainbux™ loan.
