I feel like that bit is nowhere near enough and it was pretty executed not so good due to Pinkie Pie’s insensitivity there.

I meant that in the sense of Luna being “scary” and that turning into a positive trait over a negative one.

That’s not exactly touching on themes of darkness though.  
Just halloween-theme(and said Nightmare Night episodes only have Luna in it once, the other Nightmare Night episodes didn’t feature Luna for some reason I think).
 
Meant like actual darkness such as those dark powers of Nightmare Moon, not Luna pretending to turn into her for a few scares or something.

 
They implicitly did, like with Nightmare Night, but not to such a complete way that I can recall.
 
Shame we didn’t get to explore the royal pony sisters more thematically.

Would have love to see them touch on the theme of darkness and such with Luna.  
Like her showing how darkness isn’t always evil and such.
 
Even supporting the theme of friendship by showing the concepts of co-existence, like with light and darkness existing together.

Magic Duel was almost canned for slavery? Something that was barely relevant to the story whereas it was a major point in The Crystal Empire (right down to them using the term “slave”)?

Suddenly, Under The Northern Lights has some canon support.

You seem unaware of the possibility that she was given the choice of quitting or getting fired.
 
She’d already done the heavy lifting of developing a new version of Hasbro’s pony toy property so they didn’t really need her any more and don’t think they wouldn’t do it to prevent her from using these ideas they seem to have had a problem with (probably because they show some daring. We saw how much courage they have during Derpygate.)
 
It’s impossible to confirm this scenario because no one who knows for sure would ever talk about it because it would embarrasses their employers and people who do that don’t get jobs.
 
Isn’t it telling, though, that no one has ever given a reason why Faust stopped working on the show despite her obvious enthusiasm for the project?

These are more like little nods to the ideas they couldn’t use rather than actually using them.
