I did, and that was utterly wild. I thought I was special because I can use the Navi Dive glitch to do Jabu-Jabu and Bottom Of The Well before Dodongo’s Cavern XD

No, but I will.
You ever see that insane Tool-Assisted Speedrun of Final Fantasy where they beat the entire game, with a single white mage, with zero experience gained outside of mandatory unavoidable battles, just by exploiting the game’s random number generator? :D
Yeah. Plus Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin and Order of Ecclesia on the DS both have a Level1 Hard Mode. Sure, you’ll get one-shot by a lot of things in the mid-to-late game (especially if you don’t collect HP Ups), but you don’t need to level up.
It’s what I like so much about Paper Mario, is how leveling up is practically optional. Another good one is Front Mission on SNES, where leveling up is there but it’s not as important as tactics, item usage, or properly outfitting and equipping your mech :D
Yeah, like, a lot of action RPGs don’t require grinding if you’re skilled enough to dodge and weave in between enemies and their attacks enough to not die. Even a lot of modern turn-based RPGs don’t need much if any grinding.
And yeah, it’d be super cool for more games to be creative and interesting with their ideas like Minish Cap.

It’s not near as bad in a game of skill, either. Like, you can either get better at the game or spend time to make the game easier :D
Also, NEVER fight the final boss of a castle right away. Instead just stick to getting the dungeon items necessary to progress to the next part of the game, and save the dungeon boss battles for the end to instantly achieve the final and hardest level-ups.

Yeah, grinding seems much less tedious when you’re a kid playing a game that you love to pieces. Though in my current playthrough, I’m employing a strategy I learned from watching speedruns to mitigate grinding; focus on maxing out one stat (speedrunners do attack), then use the experience gained from beating a dungeon to power level the other two stats.
Hrm… now I miss my old GBA.
Nice to see a fellow fan of Zelda 2. I remember playing both the first and second game with my cousin, and though I loved them both, I somehow liked the second one better. Largely because I didn’t mind grinding at the time. I was so new to games at the time, it felt like some kind of cool cheat instead of a chore.

Yeah, the shrinking mechanic in Minish Cap was really cool too. I especially liked the time a regular Chu became a dungeon boss because you were Minish sized.

Bit late to the party here but the fairy warp is used in speedruns of Zelda2 to skip a number of things, really central to the current pathing. It is used in the final dungeon so you can skip getting the last spell. This is a huge time save. https://youtu.be/sBvnDGINUf0?t=3330

After looking it over, it’s cool in practice, but the conditions are kinda dicey, especially in regards to certain Palaces only having the first one’s layout if you haven’t beaten said Palace.
That said, the guy’s stats in his vid are sick
