I’m sure it’s the show staff, though I’ve never heard of them being afraid of fans complaining about “mistakes” they’ve made. Likewise, I’ve rarely heard of any fan thus far being grateful that the show was ending, though I am one of the few that is. I have heard the exact opposite; people are devastated that tbe show is ending. There was even a petition posted on Facebook asking for a tenth season that reached 600 signatures in just one day. This is unlikely to change Hasbro’s mind, however.

Not sure who is more happy that thow is ending: the fanbase, who can rest knowing that their beloved show will not get ruined any further or the show staff, who no longer need to afraid of fans complaining over every mistake.

Except Discovery Family has shown that they don’t care about the show due to the fact that their advertising for it is completely shitty, and that’s been true since the network switched from the Hub to Discovery Family, the former of which was great at advertising for the show. Discovery Family, on the other hand, does more advertising for shows like Cake Boss and their other live-action shows than they do for My Little Pony.

There have been shows that have been abruptly canceled without the creators knowing. A recent one I can think of is Aqua Teen Hunger Force. The president of Adult Swim just decided one day to cancel the show because he felt they should move on from it and told the creators this when they were in the middle of making the next season. They had to retool some things to make it work as a last season.
 
This stuff does happen, but it would be unlikely for a show this big to have that happen.

Didn’t someone write a whole fake Harry Potter book and pass it off as a leak? That was years ago so my memory is vague, but people have too much time on their hands and would pull stuff like this off. I find it unlikely, but those were just concepts and concepts can be abandoned. Plus, the whole thing was lazy as hell so if G5 is coming I really hope they don’t go the route the leaks showed.

Well, a lot of this stuff is hard to find, especially nowadays, seeing as how I imagine that it’s all been taken down now. Even if I did find them, I would need a special program to unzip the files so I could open them. But you’d be surprised what effort people will go through to substantiate a rumor to make it seem more believable. I mean, it’s not like this is the first time we’ve had unconfirmed rumors in this fandom. Rememebr back in 2013 when rumors were flying around that Lauren Faust was going to return to the show and Pinkie Pie was going to get a boyfriend? The same could hold true for season 9 supposedly being the last season. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. I’m still waiting to hear anything official regarding this from Hasbro or DHX themselves. Maybe there will be something in the promos indicating that this is the last season. (Considering what the network did to Littlest Pet Shop, this is unlikely.) Until then, all we can do is speculate.

Man, I was gonna reply, but… Jesus, the amount of time and effort it would’ve taken to fake all those E-mails, all the material in them, all the art that’d never been seen before, all the stuff that’s already come to pass in the show…
