Being an entity of mysterious origin, little is known about Malcontent.
Upon escaping from a prison in Tartarus, Malcontent appeared some 10 years ago with more than the aid given from the last siren, Aria Blaze. Quickly taking root in the area known as No Mans Land, the criminal mastermind wasted little time hiding his headquarters from prying eyes. This was accomplished by his use of his magic, placing an illusion spell over his mansion. Bunkering down in in the uninhabitable area, he was able to work in relative peace with Aria. This is because in No Mans Land there is an over saturation of magic, which is due to the fact it’s ground zero to the Canterlot Disaster, resulting in realistic hallucination that have been named a side effect of Magic Madness.
True to his archetype, Malcontent seldom leaves the comfort of his lair. Instead he sends out his lover and enforcer, Aria, to do his bidding among the outside world. The few times when he would venture out, he was never seen without her by his side.
Able to manifest cryokinetic and telekinetic abilities, he feeds on the most negative and base line emotions of people in the surrounding area closes to him. The more intense the emotions, the more powerful he becomes. Because of this, it makes him a severely dangerous foe to fight on any level.
Paired with a mindset that seems prepared for everything and anything, someone may consider Malcontent as dangerous a thinker as he is a fighter. Although like most arch nemesis’s mindset he does seem almost entirely overly sure of himself.
He currently has a scheme in motion that appears to be set on turning the city against itself with fear and paranoia by making new super villains. Though why he wishes for more competition has yet to be determined or seen.
