I actually meant more “back in the day” referring to cartoons from the 80’s and early 90’s, where I’m sure every market had it’s own release schedule - we just didn’t know because there wasn’t wide internet access. It was happening as early as 2005/2006 when Britain was airing episodes for the final season of Justice League Unlimited a week or more before Toonami.
I want to say we’re the only community that has this problem, I don’t recall there being any mass hububs about leaks for shows like “The blacklist” or scheduling hiccups for the next episode of “Dawsons creek”, or hacking the emails for the people who worked on “angel” episodes.
if anything, pony is definitely revolutionary in more ways than one.

As someone that has been around the fandom since early 2011, It wasn’t all common back then. At most, you’d get an accidental leak from iTunes or some other odd fluke that I may have forgotten.
The foreign early airings have been much more consistent since the end of Season 6 onward, and it sucks. I too miss the Saturday morning traditions of watching the new episodes in a livestream with everyone else.
Same thing happened with the episode with AJ’s parents. It leaked before everyone could enjoy it together.
Because the previous season ended in October, so you’d have to wait a year for the next season. They won’t do that again, we already had that screw-up between seasons 4 and 5, which is why the schedule is permanently upside-down now.
No no, you’re not the only one… I don’t have the strength to avoid spoilers or leaks and it really bothers me we can’t watch the new episodes All together…
