I will stay by my version:
This adorable family deserves happiness and Dusty is a great mother who loves her cute daughter.
I looked into the source and Background Pony’s right. In their fanart universe thingie Lightning did all that stuff. A happy scene is nice on it’s own but I guess for anyone that follows the artist it’s meant to be a bittersweet facade kinda thing.
No, they all looks fine.
And that is good.
Dusty suffered enough in the past and deserves to be finally happy.

Er… this isn’t quite as happy as it seems. Lightning’s been living vicariously through her daughter there, pushing her to fulfill her failed dream, and she did the same thing to her son who she eventually through out of the house after he couldn’t take it anymore then lied to her daughter about why her beloved big brother left. What she deserves is a wake up call and a strong hoof to the jaw.
