Well, remember that this plot twist was intended for the target audience of little girls, not MAN-children who have way too much time on their hands to break down and analyze every freaking little detail, ya know??

Honestly, while I liked the finale, I feel like making an evil 10-year-old schoolfilly the big bad is scraping the bottom of the barrel. Also, in the first episode she appeared in, I really liked the idea of a character being conniving, but good. It seemed surprisingly nuanced and original.

I just freaking realized Gabby had a similar situation with Cozy Glow. Not the same but it still involves CMC helping.
And Gabby actually felt more believable due to how passionate, caring and brave to sacrifice to make her friends feel better.

Good point about the genuinely liking CMC and the hiding part. I personally think it could have gone either way but still, Cozy Glow doesn’t have those elements that true friendship would have. At least later down the newer episodes.

I like the idea of a white lie she did regardless of her motif during that episode because it can either be a good or bad thing. Of course, I felt very 50/50 that would be too cunning for a filly. Then again, kids nowadays can be genius so even an infant can dominate the world (Stewie and Boss Baby).

So yeah, anyone can be a sociopath regardless of age.

Oh, no. I haven’t seen the finale yet but I can tell you from her premiere episode she had some red flags for psychopathy/sociopathy, though I’m still not quite sure which. She clearly lacks empathy, or at least her capacity for it is severely diminished. There are some points where it feels like she’s clearly phoning it in and faking her emotions, and being superficially charming like that can be a marker of psychopathy, but here’s where it gets weird. While she’s clearly using them as means to an end, she seems to genuinely like the CMC’s. Case in point, she gets upset about them getting banned from Twilight’s school, but she was hiding at the time she expressed that sentiment. As far as she knew there was no one around she had to put on an act for, so if the CMCs really were just means to an end, even if getting them banned from the school would have been counterproductive, it would make more sense for her to be annoyed, if she reacted at all. Now while sociopaths aren’t so good at faking emotions, and even while lacking in empathy, they can form genuine attachments with other people to the point where they care about what happens to them. Consequently Cozy feels like a weird middle ground between the two like they wanted to emphasize her lacking in empathy but couldn’t really decide what direction to take it.

Her first appearance made me think she’s a good filly that had wrong ideas. I first thought she’s being suspicious though the conclusion of the episode made me ignore that because friendship is a complicated thing.

However, her ‘friendship’/kindness was somehow…not solid. Like, her only personality is that she’s helpful which is good but we never got to know her origins or more about her before the finale aside from being alone. There’s also the fact she wants to earn everyone’s trust in such a very fast pace with cheap methods which doesn’t sound like true friendship. Hence, any bronies can smell something fishy with her because her methods of earning friendships lacked some kind of real substance. It’s basically similar to how you use money or kindness to increase your inner cicle or someone’s love for personal gains.

Closest to that imo would be Sludge or Flim Flam because they manipulate everyone’s past, feelings, weaknesses, etc to earn their trust for personal gains.

Also kudos for ProZD.

When I first saw Cozy - and then the leaks - I was sure that Cozy was being manipulated or blackmailed by Neighsay, and she would eventually turn on him and help the main cast save the day. For her to be legitimately a major antagonist wasn’t something I was expecting, but it was definitely more interesting than what I had in mind.

The pink text isn’t very good, harder to read, best left in the background. Avoid that color in the future.

I actually thought Cozy wasn’t evil at all. I thought the writers made it seem like she was, leading the bronies to think she was, only for the plot twist to be she wasn’t at all. Guess I was wrong.
