@Appletini- Indeed, those two were great episodes. I’m especially excited about the upcoming Apple Family Reunion episode.

Synopsis- When Applejack is granted permission by Granny Smith to organize the upcoming Apple Family Reunion, she is thrilled at the opportunity but she soon loses focus of the important things in her haste to put together extravagant activities.

Hopefully this’ll draw more attention to the character and give more insight to her as a whole….for me at least.

@Trotsky I honestly hate that it’s become a meme.

@Acidicore I think there’s something to say about unique flaws. She was the first of Twilight’s friends to have an episode, and it was all about her stubborn nature, so having it already established on her makes it more redundant on Dash’s part. Some of the character flaws that you bring up aren’t so much part of their constant personality and how they always act within an episode’s dynamic, but are more how an episode ends up focused on them. In that sense I think AJ’s the “dependable” pony, and she prides herself on that. Both Applebuck Season and The Last Roundup played with that, in how she wanted to be capable of handling the farm work by herself (along with all the favours she was asked to do), and how she was willing to exile herself from Ponyville and her friends and family instead of coming back a disappointment. In that I find her most endearing because she does end up needing to suck it up, whereas the rest tend to come out ahead as the best in their class. Twilight’s always going to outmagic everything. Rainbow’s always gotta go fast and say awesome and have ‘tude.

Though I wouldn’t mind more episodes where AJ was butting heads against another of the main cast. Look Before You Sleep and Fall Weather Friends were some of my favourite S1 episodes.

APPLEJACK RULES BECAUSE SHE’S THE MOST MATURE AND LEVELHEADED, I ADMIRE THAT AND FIND THAT MORE ENDEARING THAN THE OTHER WACKOS IN THE CAST

RARITY RULES HARD THOUGH AND IS A CLOSE SECOND FAVORITE (THE OTHERS CAN EAT IT!!!!)

To be honest, AJ is my favorite, but the problem with her character is not being overshadowed by other characters, it’s her lack of unique flaws. She can be stubborn, but so is Rainbow Dash. She can be someone to look up to for advice, so can Fluttershy or Twilight Sparkle. The only thing I can think of is that she couldn’t lie, not even to save her life, just make an excuse to get around it.

Her personality is almost the same as Dash’s (and having the same voice actor doesn’t help), their both good at their jobs (while AJ’s is more constantly demanding, RD can relax more…and apparently makes enough money to live in cloud mansion), but RD can be a jerk sometimes, rather brash and cold. It’s her other quirks that reel her in as a rounded character. Rarity can be generous, hardworking and kind, but also very vain and self absorbed to the point she doesn’t acknowledge the feelings of those around her, but it’s the fact she tries not to and the prior personality tics that make her interesting and hilarious to watch. Twilight’s lack of street smarts and social awkwardness, Fluttershy’s excessive attempts to be polite or exploding into anger when faced with an overwhelming situation and Pinkie Pie being extremely hyper and ditsiness, but they still come out of their flaws because everything that makes them enjoyable to watch.

Applejack’s just…bland I guess, still my favorite of the six regardless.

@Applejack- You know I didn’t mean it :’C

I recognize the pony in the picture somewhere. Ya’ll think he got a name yet? Must not be from many episodes.
