Roxy: Yeah, yeah, I get it; Lyric Forte is opening for him, move on to the good stuff already!
 
Serenata: Oh, sorry; I just like reading everything..
 
Roxy: Read it on your own time or give me the paper! **reaches out for it but Serenata snatches it away from her hooves* *
 
Serenata: Excuse me! You cant just steal my newspaper away from me, I dont even know you! You just sat down next to me after seeing the headlines.. If you want to hear about the news from MY paper, you’re going to have to wait until I get to that part myself!
 
Roxy: Ugh.. *rolls eyes* Fine.. Can you read the rest later and just skip to the contest bit then please and I’ll be on my way..
 
Serenata: Hmph, fine.. ahem.. “For the first time ever, TenStar has announced the ‘Shooting Star Songwriting Showcase’! A contest where you, the fans, get the chance to let your imagination and love for TenStar be heard, by writing your own original song! The lyrics will be judged by the one and only TenStar himself, and the winner will be given a VIP Backstage Pass to hang out with TenStar after the show and the chance to have your original song lyrics recorded with him as a single for his next album.”
 
Roxy: VIP backstage pass?! Where do we sign up?
 
Serenata: *staring at the article with sparkling eyes* Um.. It says we can sign up in City Hall in Ponyville.. This sounds amazing.
 
Roxy: *raises an eyebrow* Are you thinking of entering too?
 
Serenata: Well.. I’ve only heard TenStar once, but I fell in love with his music very quickly.. I would love to meet him. *blushes a bit*
 
Roxy: *notices the blush and thinks to herself* Hmm.. It appears I may have a rival on my hooves… *clears throat and reaches her hoof out* My names Roxy by the way, sorry about being so foreward.
 
Serenata: *breaks her trance and looks at Roxy, then shakes her hoof* I’m Serenata Gleam.
 
Roxy: Serenata, huh? I’m guessing thats a music related name and cutie mark then?
 
Serenata: *blushes a bit and laughs* Well, yeah; My family are.. I guess you can call them singers. So a contest like this isnt too far out of my own territory!
 
Roxy: I see.. Well, dont expect me to lose to you just because you already have experience in this. *hops off the bench and stares her in the face, smiling confidently* I need to win that pass.. I am going to win this contest!
 
Serenata: You’re awfully confident, arent you?
 
Roxy: I have to be. It’s been my dream to spend some alone time with Tenor Star ever since I first saw him perform… and nows finally my chance to hang out with him one on one and no newcomer music pony like you is gonna get in the way of my dream!
 
Serenata: *giggles a bit* I see.. Well, may the best song writer win. *offers out her hoof*
 
Roxy: *pauses for a moment then shakes Serenata’s hoof* You’re on!
