He needs to learn that there are consequences, even if he succeeds.
 
Hmmmm… so far he at most removed ponies’ memories (in my stories), and didn’t rewrite them, or their personalities, after being reformed.
 
So a sufficient diplomacy and a Guilt Trip might sometimes work. ‘Cause he won’t rewrite your Free Will to want-to-avoid-Guilt-Tripping-him… (…then again similar things can be achieved with mere Memory Removal.)
 
Or being creative enough to figure out HOW to make things REALLY boring to him.
 
Discord HATES boredom.

The only obstacle would be his intelligence and common sense (!!!) then, because he might mis-judge how durable ponies are, and delay the removal of Orange + Blue + Windigos so much that they actually HURT the Equestrians, or even KILL some of them.

I can’t really argue her logic, but at the same time, giving him what he wants like this is going to send all the wrong messages. He needs to learn that there are consequences, even if he succeeds.
