My Little Pony comic #5, “Merry Music”, 1985
Title: Pantomime Parade
Summary: To Bow Tie’s sadness, no one seems to have remembered her birthday. Not only is this a very popular plot in MLP (and in children’s literature in general, I think), but it also closely follows her backcard story. It’s a simple story, but it makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. _

Goodbye Ponk Pie Hat
“What’s a whinny?”, you may ask. A whinny is a kind of neighing, but also it’s a call used by horses when they are separated from each other across a distance (ref: [1] [2] [3]). In other words, it’s just what a lonely cute pony separated from her herd would say.

G1 comics: they even get the *horse noises* right.
