Description

“Do not be afraid, princess. I feel it too.”

(This all takes place before Flurry Heart)

Some time after the defeat of King Sombra, Cadence decided to take a casual flight over the Crystal Empire as a break from her princess duties. However, she was surprised to find a dark figure crumbled in the snow. As she drew closer, Cadence realized who it was–a weakened Sombra. For a fleeting moment, she debated whether she should leave him to die in the cold. But her kind heart prevented her from doing such a deed.

Cadence brought Sombra back to the Crystal Empire to nurse him back to health, so he could face justice for what he had done to their proud and glittering kingdom. However, as Sombra began to recover, Cadence found that he wasn’t exactly the horribly evil stallion that he used to be. It seemed that his second defeat had softened him slightly, and he had no desire to try to take over their home again. This revelation caused Cadence to decide to reform her former foe. Shining Armor wasn’t too keen on the idea, but Cadence insisted that his reformation could greatly benefit them in the long run.

However, as Cadence had began to visit Sombra more frequently, she found that she felt something forming between them. Every session, they had grown closer. They had stood nearer. Their eyes had met more often. Cadence didn’t like the way her heart pounded when Sombra smirked and chuckled lightly. At that point, she had been spending more time “reforming” Sombra than with her own husband. Shining noticed this and had decided to confront his wife. What transpired shook the whole Crystal Empire to its core.

Yo. I like me some Cadence x Sombra. It’s so full of tropes, but I don’t care. I’m a sucker for bright characters paired with dark broody ones. Sue me.
