If you guys like reading stuff that goes this psychological/analytical, then I recommend THISHarry Potter fanfic. WARNING: Super addictive for science nerds and geeks.
The shopkeeper is letting me join his campaign, and helped me with my character sheet.
I’m a half-elf assassin with the alias “Lucky Chuck”.
The group I’m joining plays 5e though…
Oh, nice. Did you meet the other players? What are their characters?
I have, besides playing 3.0 and 3.5, listened to a lot of podcasts of D&D 4.0.
Know almost zero about 5.0.
The DM will likely teach you how to play on the fly, so there probably won’t be a strong need for you to read the rules.
So I recommend you to watch a few recorded games online. Lots of people likely recorded those on YouTube or on dedicated D&D websites in mp3 form. You might see how different groups play.
My stories show only how one particular group of people would play D&D.

Not that it’s very important, but I found a game shop on my street that sells the essentials for aspiring tabletop players.
They’ve got a colorful selection of dice sets among other things.
Weird that she is not using that power to invent THE BEST comebacks in the span of the half a second between hearing somepony say a thing and the echo of their words dying out in the air.
Also, what if Twilight says something controversial? Will you attach that controversial opinion to ME, huh?? :P
Because I have given each of the characters flaws and strong opinions that I disagree with, and I have seen at least a few times people thinking that a particular opinionated character was just an Author Avatar.
If Twi says she likes apples more than she likes strawberries, will you think that of me too? (I personally prefer strawberries.)
Perhaps only the extreme softies.
After all, even Fluttershy didn’t get any PTSD after all the mortal perils and adventures they faced.

Just wanted to make sure.
These dice are really cool!
You mean 2 d10’s?
A roll of “0” on one and “00” on another is “100”.
All dice go from 1 upwards. (Unless you decide to change that rule.)
On a d-100 (10x10, 10) does 00, 0 mean 100?
Even if just for fun and practice, I recommend Rory’s Story Cubes.
I’m not sure if I could handle that responsibility…
I don’t think of myself as a storyteller…
If you buy any of those, the question will remain if you’ll find an interesting group with a fun DM.
Or you could put effort into learning how to become a good DM yourself, if you’re into that.

Yup!

(Currently shaped like a scared and whimpering Fluttershy.)
Helloooo, don’t you see the joking “XD” and “:P” emotes?
They are implying a laughing tone of voice and exaggeration for the sake of humor.
I know that many people are mean on the internet, but this is not the case here. :)
Whoa dude, chill!
Too dark?
Stop breaking the immersion! XD

Thanks for the update!
I’ll continue waiting patiently for the next part of Twilight’s campaign!
