Its more that the episode confirms that Discord doesn’t know anything about romance and feelings of love, which mean he might have not experience the same reaction to Fluttershy as Spike toward Rarity in S1, but something more unrealised. Something broke in him when she called him his friend in Keep Calm and FLutter On when she called him her friend. Thing was snowballing in later episode, it reformed into something bigger after his betrayal in Twilight Kingdom when she forgave him. He coudn’t figure it out why was he so protective of her in Make new Friends but keep Discord, To where and back again or Dungeons and Discords. It reaches its finale stage after Discordant Harmony. Spike pointing it out is nothing strange. And this episode is where Discord fianlly get the position that Spike is in with Rarity and Big Mac with Sugarbelle. If the show want to make Fluttercord canon, then it can finally happen after this episode and this lesson that Discord learns.

This is how writers see assertive Fluttershy. It has nothing to do with Discord. And Discord most likely reformed in the first place because he felled for Fluttershy in romantic way in Keep Calm and Flutter on.

Nothing wrong with that, is just that Discord would have been reformed the same but without Fluttershy’s friends hating him. I know it would sound boring but to me at least it would be better than Fluttershy betraying her friends just because they don’t trust him.
 
I just want Fluttershy to be kind again rather than an angry monster like Courtney.

Maybe they thought Discord ruined their friendship in the Season 2 premiere by making them gray and being the opposite of their elements that he stole, which might explain why.
 
Also, this is about the character’s behaviours not the ships. Although yea, Duncney has no connection with Fluttercord. But I am talking about how a ship can affect a character’s behaviour, Fluttershy acted like Courtney from Total Drama in episodes Post-Hearts and Hooves Day, such as Putting Your Hoof Down (which she gets hated on for mistreating innocent ponies), Magic Duel, Flutter Brutter, Buckball Season, Fame and Misfortune and Fake it Till You Make It. Fluttershy is the element of kindness, not bitchiness.
 
Also, I don’t ship Fluttercord and I never liked the ship because of how the Mane 6 and Cadance treats Discord. Imagine if your friends betray you for hooking up with a criminal.

There was nothing that FLuttershy did wrong. It was mane5 being too hostile toward him, when they are so forgivable toward Glimmer and Stygian. Courtney was an annoying character that drove Duncan insane with her trivialities and materialistic nature vs his free spirit/rebelious personality. It was never a good pairing because they were never a good match. They had no connection to Fluttershy and Discord because Fluttershy was always a nature oriented free spirit who had much in common with Discord.

A) her friendship with Discord almost broke the bonds of the Mane 6 because of her friends being angry pissy babies at him after being reformed. Shippers sadly don’t care.
 
B) Courtney was a bitch by being unhappy, mean and hostile towards all the characters after Duncan and Gwen became a couple, and she gets hated on by the fandom. Bitch has a double meaning, you know? She didn’t do anything slutty aside from hooking up with Alejandro.
