Tea, I apologize for giving you so much shit over the years. I may not enjoy or agree with some of your opinions, actions you take, or some instances where you conduct yourself in a rather ignorant manner, but there’s no denying that you’re not all that terrible. “Not completely a nazi,” as a few individuals have told me over PUBG. You’re not a bad guy, you’re just incredibly stressed and you have a bit of difficulty handling that, as I’ve seen over the years.
 
When I joined Derpibooru, I was roughly 16. I acted immature and like a total fucktard a fair majority of the time. About a year ago, I decided to quit that bullshit, because honestly it’s not fun for the individuals involved, and I have better things to do with my time than act like a jackass on the internet. I can’t blame my actions on anything that isn’t directly connected with myself, so simply put, I take full responsibility for acting like a babbling idiot.
 
I don’t really enjoy your remarks about how all of you just keep me around for your own amusement at my unwilling expense. I know two individuals who wouldn’t agree with that, and both are apart of your staff. However, I’m going to let you do you.

First odd, I’m not upset with you about hating one of history’s most infamous group of individuals. I’m right up there with you that, indeed, I disagree with almost every nazi that was alive during the rise and fall of Nazi Germany. (There’s a few exceptions, such as Ozkar Schindler, Franz Stigler, and other ‘nazis’ that betrayed the Nazi Government in favor of better morals.) I absolutely hate the ones that not only agreed with the views of the Nazi Party, but also carried out actions that were in direct alignment with the government’s overall goals such as slaughtering and enslaving jews.
 
But what you don’t seem to get is, Nazis as a threatening group are a thing of the past. They’re an extremely small fraction of all citizens within the US and, as long as they don’t commit crimes, are completely allowed to say their opinion. And it’s just that, an opinion. I disagree with them entirely, but I will fight tooth and nail for them to say their opinion because if they’re not allowed to say their opinion, then I’m not allowed to say mine. I don’t want double standards and, if need be, I will fight alongside a Nazi to ensure that free speech is upheld.
 
Thing is, I know Nazis are against Free Speech. It’s one of their core ideals is to police speech and to ensure that ideas are not expressed or passed down. Nazis know that the only way to kill an idea is to prevent people from talking about it. Once you do that, it never lands in history, and people cease to have that idea. It’s legitimately frustrating how Nazis can use Free Speech in order to say they disagree with Free Speech, but I am completely for them having the right to say this completely disgusting and self-defeating opinion.
 
I am also heavily against assaulting someone based solely on their opinions. We live in a Western society which values civil discourse and it’s one of the reasons America is able to function. It’s one of the reasons so many people want to move and live in America because, broadly speaking, we allow you to say your opinions without stoning you to death, throwing you off buildings, setting you on fire, or putting you in prison for those opinions.
 
Look at me and Teaspoon. I look at him and see someone who wants to police everyone and throw rocks in glass houses. I look at him and see someone who values destroying Free Speech. I look at him and I see someone with a vile opinion. However, opinions don’t, or shouldn’t, be the basis of someone’s character. I look at him and I see an equal human being. If I had him at my table at a bar, I’d buy him a beer because it’s polite. I wouldn’t attack this man, despite disagreeing with him heavily and seeing him as someone who throws insults and runs away. He has the servers for another 10 years, tops. I couldn’t care less what he does because he literally has no real-world power and no matter what he does do, he will never have enough of anything to do any real damage to me. On the flip side, I’m sure he sees me as a garbage human and I have the suspicions he would shoot me if he had the chance; but he hasn’t yet and I’m sure it’s because civil discourse is what happens in life.
 
So no, you’re wrong, I’m not continuing to speak with you because you disagree with a group I, too, disagree with. I’m speaking with you because it’s the human condition to want to share ideas, opinions, and products of ourselves. I’m able to see you as an equal, and that’s why I want to challenge your ideas and opinions in hopes of making you less of a garbage human.
 
If I was given a gun, and asked to choose between a room with another man with a gun, and a room with a rabid dog, I’m going to choose the room with the man because I can reason with another human. You can’t reason with a rabid dog. There’s no communication able to be had. I’d like you to be a human, and not a rabid dog.

now i’m not advocating for banning pictures with nazi iconography in them, mainly because we don’t always know the intent behind them. in some cases, like this picture, it’s just an incidental depiction of nazi stuff. other times, like whenever ml/pol/ collectively spew their turds all over the derpibooru main page, it’s obviously meant to be incendiary and there’s no good reason to tolerate it, just like there’s no good reason to tolerate bad users. history has shown that when you allow a community to be a safe harbor for hatred, it doesn’t just stay put. it festers and grows until it spreads like a cancer to other communities. like, 4chan sucks nowadays because the /pol/tards are CONSTANTLY raiding other boards and spreading their shit around like the plague - they’re living proof that “containment boards” don’t fucking work. tolerating intolerance doesn’t lead to more tolerance, it leads to more fucking intolerance. do we really want to go down that road? why not just do the right thing and tell all the nazis and nazi sympathizers to fuck off and never come back?
