Burge doesn’t really hold it against Pupa; she’s just a little kid and she knows it’s not her fault. The conflict is more with Ember, who (seemingly) favors one child over another.
Interestingly enough, Burge’s best friend is an only child who constantly blows off her very supportive parents. What Burge wouldn’t give for a supportive mom like that. Her friend doesn’t know how good she has it.
