Again, I’m only making educated guesses based on the general consensus of the fan-artists. One trend I noticed was that it seems like in AUs where the characters are human but magic still exists, the princesses are certainly the most powerful in terms of spell ability, so it’s totally reasonable that they’ll have a spell that lets them hulk out if the situation calls for it.
I like tall strong women. Can I assume that the Royal Sisters are some of the tallest and strongest characters in the show?
Make it easier for the toy companies to manufacture them? Plus Twilight is the main character, so she gets special attention.
The only notably tall females we see on the show are the princesses, fleur, and sassy saddles otherwise.
I don’t see why they can’t be taller because of their strength? Why do the show animators consistently make everyone except Twilight the same height?
Also, as a double caveat to #3 and #4, remember that little girls are the shows main demographic. Height is also associated with masculinity, so some tomboyish girls who see themselves in rainbow dash might be worried about appearing “manly” if she’s both tough and tall.
I wouldn’t look too far into the physiological differences(canon or fanon), only because if you delve that deep into bronyism, you’ll meet certain parts of the fandom (you know who I’m talking about) that use it to justify their bigotry in the real world.

That is an interesting concept. Obviously, there have to be some physiological and even psychological differences between each of the races.
I’d assume so. Though she’s normally depicted as the token fat girl because of her love for candy and pastries.
It actually reminds me of a fanfiction I read a while back where it was stated that unicorns have the highest obesity rate out of all the ponies, due to them typically using spells to lift things and teleporting instead of walking. Earth ponies had the second highest, but were also the strongest physically. Pegasus were the thinnest (because they were basically like hummingbirds when it came to ingesting and burning calories)

I know. But, the rest of the world tends to think that. Everybody assumes that because I’m six feet tall, I’m strong, when that is not the case. But, now that there’s a girl that I’d be more attracted to if they drew her as tall, nobody wants to think like that. What is the deal?
