Okay, I had completely forgotten about them being in the S7 finale… probably because the S7 finale was the WORST season finale to date. But I concede that you are correct. EqG IS canon to the show now, though I would still like to see Bacon Mane at least referenced in the show.

It is because they draw the incorrect conclusion that if EqG references the show itself, then it must do the same back…
To be honest, I suspect that Hasbro does not have any desire to make EqG canon. It would only take ONE reference to Bacon Mane, or to the portal mirror… like they did with Tempest Shadow in the Season 8 opener.

Never said she wasn’t. And again, how do we know that’s the only school? Also, remember that Applebloom somehow didn’t meet Sweetie Belle or Scootaloo until Call of the Cutie, though they were seen together in the series premiere, presumably as strangers who didn’t talk to each other and forgot about each other until Call of the Cutie. I don’t know.

Directly, no. But you have two characters of approximately the same age growing up in a town with a single, one-room school. I find it hard to imagine they were completely unaware of each other.
