EQG is about aping Monster High in the most creatively bankrupt and lazy way despite the franchise being called My Little PONY and driving Faust away in the process (which was kinda a key factor to FIM success overall,note that i said A key factor,not THE key factor)fixed that for you

I doubt they’re going to explore the Celestia/Sunset dynamic. Not like they even cared about that, it was pretty much barebones and in the special it came out of blue. I believe FF was all you’re going to get me thinks.

I’d love to see Sunset cameo in an official episode, maybe not for long or be an important part of the story.  
I’ve always imagined Sunset and Celestia being seen in a background of an episode that doesn’t have to do with them, but it will show that an episode and a short / special from Equestria Girls takes place at the same time.

Sunset wont be appearing in the show, full stop. I dont know why people even got that idea, she was never meant to be a FiM character. Ive even seen people who seriously thought she waa going to be a permenant addition to the show

I think they also don’t want to shove EQG down people’s throat if they don’t want anything to do with it but like FIM.
 
Also it’s better for immersion because let’s not kid ourselves EQG’s story makes absolutely no sense and that means that everytime there is a connection to it FIM’s story will also make no sense either which takes away from the show’s immersion and similar aspects like lore.

they just wanted to make it so people don’t have to watch eqg in order to follow the show properly

Near as I understand it, Friendship is Magic is canon to Equestria Girls but EGs is not canon to FIM. FIM doesn’t need equestria girls to work but EGs does.

Well, what do you know? I’ve been right all along.

Im glad this issue can finally be put to rest. Nick is at least honest about it unlike Meghan who always was cryptid when the question aboit Sunset on the show came up.

The EQG series in an alternate dimension well as the movie took place in the same timeline as FIM so if anything, it’d make less sense not to reference it
