I wouldn’t call them “dead” per-say as they still make games, (though most of their non-Sonic products are more popular in Japan) and they do own Atlus now.

I owned sonic 3d blast for Sega Saturn. Never got sonic jam though. Sega was ahead of their time from their start to their untimely death.
