gonna absolutely check that out. Though what i meant was a universe where ponies and pokemon coexisted ever since the beginning of life, with gyms and elite four. How different would Equestria be if pokemon coexisted with ponies ever since the beginning?

I think unicorns and alicorns are psychic types, because psychic types are weak to dark, and Sombra proved himself both impossible to be hit by magical beams and sealed away Shining Armor’s magic imidedly.
Cadence on the other side would be a fairy type since her shield kept Sombra at bay (considering how tired Cadence was, Shining armor most likely didn’t shield the Crysatl Empire a single time because his barrier was useless against Sombra).
I wrote a fanfic where a Raichu end up in Equestria while devoid of memories. For a pokemon/MLP crossover it is doing fairly well.

Do you think unicorns would have a propensity to be fairy-type?
the more you talk about it, the more i think about how equestria would be with ponies and pokemon. The weather factory would have flying, water and maybe electric types helping them; the royal guard would have steel and fighting types and so on
That all seems to make sense.
To be fair, in pokemon there’s ability Thick Fat that give resistance to ice and fire. Maybe pegasi can have ability that gives them resistance to ice, electricity and water, but make them weak to fire.
Their flying tying alongside this ability would make them:
resistant to water, fighting, bug and grass
their only weakness would be fire and rock.
Immunity to ground attack
Eletric and ice attacks would be neutral against them due to their special ability.

UPDATE: no type combination provides resistance to all three at once.
Now I’m trying to think of what typing a pegasus would have to have the proper ice, water, and electric resistances while allownig them to fly.
I dunno. Considering that pegasi can control weather, they are most likely resistant to ice and electric attacks. (They get shock quite often in their line of work).
