“BEGONE SATAAAAAAAAN!!”
Edited
*confetti cannon*
It’s a reference to the Anti-Saloon League which was an American political organization in the early 20th century that attempted and succeeded in banning the sale of alcohol in hopes that it would reduce the amount of crime. They believed it was a thing that was the root of all America’s problems, and naturally believed banning and stopping the production and sale of alcohol would help clean up the streets as it were. Long story short, the Mafia made a fortune, and crimes increased cause people made bootleg moonshine. Oh, also the ASL convinced manufacturers of ethyl alcohol to poison the product to sabotage production of liquor. Didn’t work. -D
Twilight Sparkle: Sweet Celestia! According to the spetrolyzer, Fawn Doo and Marcie Pan’s secret ingredient was… sugar! Ordinary sugar!
Pinkie Pie: Ah, so the real gift they put in was confidence. The confidence to be their best.
Twilight Sparkle: Yes, ordinary sugar, laced with nothing more than a few spoonfuls of LSD.
the sad thing is that pony society really does have a serious sugar problem… or whatever it is they put in those damn phenomenoms.
… Because it furthers the Prohibition analogy?
Mixed messages my friend.
(But she didn’t get an opinion forced on her.)
