Some mysterious beast yanked the bed away, and Night Cap made a futile attempt to fight for it. Poor little guy. I had no specific yokai in mind for the tentacle monster, though you’re right about the susuwatari. I planned on showing their little cartoony eyes at some point, but the tone of the scene changed and I just didn’t find a place for it.

I personally inserted this location into the campaign. It’s inspired by a motel my family once stayed in when I was little. We were all sick for months afterwards and felt like we were going to die.
