Its not a fan thing. He is literally teased by Spike to crush on Fluttershy. The only fandom thing right now is thinking that he is a wacky platonic uncle to Fluttershy. Once again, Hasbro will never canonise him as an adult if they are giving them romantic plotline in S9 and specials in FiM.

that’s actually a fan thing… I see Discord as more of a Wacky Uncle type… I’d think he’d be a superintendent… but one who’s a massive troll and is the bane of Principal Celestia, Vice Prinicpal Luna and Prinicpal Cadence’s proffesions… the kinda person who’d play a prank call to all the schools in the district or put tin tacs on all the teachers’ chairs…
