The drawing in question is a remake of this sketch I did with Apple Bloom way back in 2011 ( fav.me/dabl207 ). When I scanned that sketch, I was meant to complete that drawing, but for some reason I’ve never managed to do it. Until now.
Here, Apple Bloom, while lost in Everfree Forest, finds something she never saw in her whole life. It’s made of metal. What is it? Where it came from? What is it made for? Probably the princesses would have the answers, but if they had, maybe such object wouldn’t be there. Or maybe would it be? Who knows? But one thing for sure is it was sitting there for quite a long time, abandoned. This is something worth to show to the other Cutie Mark Crusaders. Perhaps they could have find some use for it.
Wait, if they have tanks… why do they use Speers?
Well no. I’m just pointing out that tanks are canon in the universe since Rarity mentions one and Rainbow’s pet tortoise is called Tank.
To be fair vinegar is probably far better for rust removal than cola and looking at that tank they are going to need it. It may be easier to obtain for them as well.
I wished I could have the time and conditions to watch One Piece, I know I’m losing a lot here, the anime and manga are just THAT awesome.
Also, this is what I was talking about:

They might be aware of tanks, but did anything closer to a tank appeared in MLP:FIM?
It was a reference to this guy. He’s a cyborg and engineer from one piece who uses cola as fuel for himself and his machines.
I didn’t know you could use cola to remove rust.

“Fueling the tank with a Cola”. XD
I am aware that Coca-Cola can be used to remove rust. I saw that Youtube video. ;)
Considering soft-drinks can be dangerous for your health, if you drink every day, of course, it would be hard finding one that can remove rust like Coca-Cola.
Since Coca-Cola is a product of advanced chemistry I would say they don’t at least not the same as we do. But they might be able to receive similar yet more magical results with their alchemy.
If you think about it fueling a tank with Cola there has to be some magic or something involved.

@FlonnesIkramant
The question is: does Equestria have an equivalent of our Coca-Cola? Since Apple Bloom will be using magic to fix the tank, she might find a potion to remove the rust instead.
Well, back in The old days. Sodas were considered Tonics and elixirs. And what’s a sub-section of an Elixir? Potions.
I get it! Although I assume it might be hard to come by and some random potion might have more potential to have devastating effects from what we have seen.
Plus she’s more experienced with potion making than soft drinks.

Why not cola?
She will reverse engineer the technology and then built her own one using magic or some potion as fuel.

I am, actually. I just wonder what she could do with this broken, rusty tank.
You’re right, we may start worrying now.
You don’t know the ingenuity of that tiny horse.
Don’t worry, my friend, the tank is too old and rusty to be a menace. Apple Bloom would, at best, turn it into a Cutie Mark Crusaders’ hideout. If she can open it, of course, and don’t find any Parasprites inside. XD
No one is safe! D:
