FicFic: Alright so, I think last update is a good place to leave this thread, and then we’ll pick it up at a new one when this one dies. So while we wait, how about a Q&A? First real CYOA I’ve done on 4chan, so I wouldn’t ind comments.
Anon: How long would you like this cyoa to go for? Have you thought of many characters or places?
FicFic: I don’t know how long I want it to go, but I do have a general sort of story worked out, so it is going a direction.
Anon: How long have you been wanting to make this?
FicFic: For a while I guess. I wanted to do something completely different from the stuff I usually do, which is why this one seems so much darker than the stuff I usually draw.
Anon: What have you learned during this thread?
FicFic: That Anon’s apparently don’t want lewd as much as I thought. Here I thought I was going to get plenty of practice with it.
Anon: As a general rule people here tend to push for lewd until they get it and then back off on the insistence for while to do story/character things.
FicFic: Ah, good to know.
Anon: As a general rule you should reply to posts that influence your post. Also, lewd is typically better received if anons need to work for it. Just handing it to us seems a bit, you know, bland. I would like to know what these stats really mean in your system though.
FicFic: Alright. Perhaps I made it forced. I’m not sure what you mean by “working for it” though. Also, thanks for pointing out I didn’t say what the stats did. I actually went back through the thread because I thought I had. My bad, I’ll explain it. First I guess I should say that you will only make stat checks for things that matter or are difficult. Mundane or impossible feats will just be automatically be successful or fail respectively. I’m doing the best I can below to explain it, but if it feels like something was left out feel free to say.
>BODY
Essentially it’s Strength+Vitality/Endurance. Basically any straining physical activity will call for a body check. Note that just because you pass a body check doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll be able to do superhuman things like break boulders. Emerald is just a simple colt, after all.
>DEXTERITY
Agility, reflexes, hoof-eye coordination, limberness, sneaking. Anything rogue-like really.
>PERCEPTION
Awareness of surroundings, the ability to pick up on social ques, and for searching.
>INTELLIGENCE
The ability to apply knowledge or deal with logic problems. Not to spoil anything, but Unfortunate Runaway is actually rather well learned. It might be useful later.
>WILLPOWER
Basically the ability to resist control (whether by well placed words or magic) and the ability to resist strong emotional impulses (like Frustration). Also, if Emerald is made to try and do something outside his personality he may get a willpower check to not do it. That isn’t to say that with a failed willpower check you can get Emerald to do whatever you want. He has to at least want to do the action a little bit. He won’t for instance, throw himself off a cliff or charge headfirst at a dragon wielding only a stick.
Anon: oh I don’t know about that. With all this frustration I’d be willing to bet he’d charge a dragon with his “stick”.
FicFic: Heh.
Anon: I don’t think it was forced, but having the second pony we met be totally willing to bone us, no questions asked, seems somewhat improbable. And I’m not so sure that the first wasn’t eyeing us either. So Emerald’s low will might actually be an advantage in some ways…
*FicFic:*Yup. In fact the choose of character was sort of a test, a scale of lewd to non-lewd. Unfortunate Runaway was lewdest, Troublesome Trickster was inbetween, and Wandering Farm Colt was generic, mostly non-lewd adventure.
Anon: Is it possible to change the stats over the course of the quest?
FicFic: Yes, but not easily. Realize that increase by even one stat point is a big deal when we are only using a d6.
Anon: How much experience do you actually have using 4chan?
FicFic: I usually just lurk /v/ and /tg/. I don’t post too often, and I don’t know how to use most of the fancy features. In fact it’s a good thing Nips told me about getting around the rules by using imgur or this thread wouldn’t exist.
Anon: So this is now bone your way to victory quest. Cool.
FicFic: Speaking of which, I supposed I should ask this question as well. What lewd things would you people want/ not want to see? I can’t promise I won’t or will do them, but I’ll take things into consideration.
Anon: Meh, I’m pretty indifferent as long as you stay away from the more fringe fetishes. No diapers, scat, gore etc.
