@TechPony
you can open it up in sony vegas or other video editor and make a video file
then, with any video converter, convert to .webm
thats what i used to convert the .gif to a .webm
you can find opensource video editors even, if you cannot afford it
@TechPony
Well, I’m not the one who that converted this first of all but the only program I really know is GIMP… but I know there’s a lot of other programs out there
But GIMP is free and works pretty well.. at least, I think
@Rainboom Dash
Any recommendations on how to make clean gifs from PNG image sequences? I use an online converter since SFM can’t do GIF format.
Also, thanks for converting this!
@BigBuggyBastage
Would be even smaller for the same quality if it didn’t have all that 256 color dithering
Oh, well
Heck, I could make a perceptually lossless (let’s say equivalent to a CRF of 12-16 x264 video) with this same animation and resolution and stuff for well under 500kb…
For 4k 60 fps I could make it for like.. probably a mb or two, actually
Maybe even less than that..
But that dithering does REALLY not help… it’s noise which drastically raises the file size
i made a workaround with flash files and .flv movies, and have something with higher quality than the .gif limitations.
or, if you can talk with someone in the deviantart crew, they can enable .webm posting for your account
If only DeviantArt accepted webm.
